Much like visiting your primary doctor for an annual wellness check, it is recommended that most adults visit the dentist at least once or twice a year for a routine prophylactic cleaning with a dental hygienist and a dental examination with a dentist. Call us today to book your consultation!
When you think of taking care of your teeth, brushing and flossing most likely spring to your mind first – and they should because these healthy oral hygiene habits are essential to oral health. There are, however, other things you can do to protect the health of your teeth, such as drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.
The number-one priority of our dentists is always to preserve a patient’s natural teeth. Sometimes, however, saving a natural tooth simply isn’t possible and extraction is necessary to prevent more serious oral health problems, such as severe infection, from developing.
Every tooth starts out with a roughly 1.5mm layer of hard enamel tissue that protects the inside of the tooth. Throughout our lives, this enamel wears away naturally as a result of the aging process and normal, daily wear and tear. On average, people lose about 0.01mm of enamel annually, which means our natural enamel is thick enough to protect our teeth for a lifetime
A full mouth reconstruction (also called full mouth restoration) is a dental service that consists of a complex treatment plan designed to rebuild, reconstruct, or restore all or most of a person’s teeth on both the top and bottom arches.
Individuals who have a condition called sleep bruxism unconsciously clench their jaws and/or grind their teeth together while they sleep. The exact cause of sleep bruxism is not known. However, it does seem to be related to stress. It also has a genetic component, as the condition tends to run in families.
Normally, we associate dark spots on teeth with dental health concerns. White spots, however, can also indicate a problem occurring with a patient’s tooth enamel. These spots are known as white spot lesions.
Gum disease (periodontal disease) is a bacterial infection of the gums that develops when plaque and hard tartar accumulate along the gum line.
One of the best things about the holiday season is letting yourself indulge in all of the special treats and goodies while spending quality time with family and friends. Unfortunately, many of these treats can put the health of your teeth and gums at risk. While you enjoy the spirit of the season, don’t forget to continue caring for your oral health!
Missing teeth can make it difficult to eat and speak comfortably, while also impacting a person’s self-confidence. Thankfully, there are a variety of options for replacing missing teeth. Whether you’re missing one or more teeth, dental implants are one of the most popular choices
While no one is born with absolutely perfect teeth, sometimes, even the smallest imperfections can prevent a person from feeling fully confident in their smile.
We all have busy lives, and, sometimes, squeezing in another appointment for every member of your family is just too much to ask. However, visiting the dentist on a regular basis for routine checkups and teeth cleanings should be an essential part of every person’s healthcare routine.
When a front tooth is lost, most patients choose to replace it right away due to concerns about their appearance. However, there are several reasons why you should replace missing teeth – regardless of whether they’re located at the front or back of your mouth.
Cosmetic dentistry is primarily concerned with aesthetics, and it has some really practical benefits, too. It can not only improve the look of your smile but also its functionality. Plus, cosmetic dentistry just might super-power your career, too!

It’s not uncommon for both adults and children to grind their teeth and/or clench their jaws while they sleep. In fact, grinding one’s teeth and clenching one’s jaw while asleep is called sleep bruxism
Every once in a while, we see a patient who has always had strong, healthy teeth and rarely experienced dental problems who suddenly develops several cavities at the same time. So, what’s the deal?
As busy as life can get, do not forget to take care of your mind and body. That includes your teeth! With all the things this past year has brought, stress is surely one of them. It is essential to be mindful of how it can manifest physically and know the steps to de-stress.
Although more research is needed to understand the connections between COVID-19, the pandemic lifestyle, and observed oral health trends, it does seem clear that our dental well-being could be at stake.
